Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors  Brian Houchins  with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered annually to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to improving the lives of children in our community.

Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary college trainer and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s education and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven marketing campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, guaranteeing secure and inclusive play areas for all kids.

The award ceremony might be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will characteristic speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
